Sweetwater County, Wyoming's fourth-most-populous county, is unusual in that it has two population centers, Green River (the county seat) and Rock Springs, and the Sweetwater County Clerk of District Court maintains staffed offices in both. Both offices serve the same Third Judicial District Court, so a case can generally be looked up regardless of which office you contact.

The Circuit Court Clerk is a separate office that also has locations in Green River and Rock Springs and keeps misdemeanor, small-civil, eviction, and protection-order records for the circuit court. Neither office offers an online case search; Wyoming has no statewide trial-court docket lookup, so plan to call, mail, or visit one of the two office locations, or use a courthouse public-access terminal.

Tickets and ordinance violations from city police go to each city's own municipal court: Rock Springs Municipal Court for Rock Springs and Green River's municipal court for Green River. The county clerks do not index those cases.

What is available online

Neither the Clerk of District Court nor the Circuit Court Clerk publishes an online case index. Because Sweetwater County splits staff between Green River and Rock Springs, confirm which office is handling a given case before visiting, though either office can generally direct a request to the correct file.

Which clerk has your record

In Wyoming, the clerk who keeps a file depends on which court heard the case. Check the court name on the case notice, citation, or order, then use the office and coverage details above to identify the record holder. Court names and responsibilities differ by state; a county clerk may not keep court case files. For federal cases, see the PACER guide. The full court structure is on the Wyoming page.
