Deschutes County, centered on Bend and the fastest-growing part of Central Oregon, is the 11th Judicial District and is served by one Circuit Court at the Deschutes County Courthouse on NW Bond Street. As in every Oregon county, that single court keeps the official file for criminal, civil, family-law, probate, and guardianship cases, so there is no separate district or county clerk to contact for court records.

The court's Records File Room, reached through the first-floor Information Kiosk, is responsible for the local case files and handles requests in person, by mail, and online. One local quirk matters: although the statewide OJD request form offers CDs and other media, Deschutes County Circuit Court delivers copies only by email, in-person pickup, or postal mail. The courthouse itself changed in 2026, when a 50,000 square foot expansion with a new entrance, lobby, and transaction windows opened in April; since August 31, 2026 the customer-service windows close at 4:30 p.m. even though the building stays open until 5:00.

Two other courts in the county keep their own records. The county-run Deschutes County Justice Court in Redmond handles traffic and ordinance violations, small claims, and some civil matters, with sessions in Redmond, Sisters, and La Pine. Bend Municipal Court handles tickets written by Bend police and city code violations. Neither is part of the state system, and neither appears in the OJD online search.

Which clerk has your record

In Oregon, the clerk who keeps a file depends on which court heard the case. Check the court name on the case notice, citation, or order, then use the office and coverage details above to identify the record holder. Court names and responsibilities differ by state; a county clerk may not keep court case files. For federal cases, see the PACER guide. The full court structure is on the Oregon page.
