Lucas County (Toledo) is one of the first Ohio counties to move its Common Pleas General Division case information onto re:SearchOH, the statewide Tyler Technologies portal, as of January 2026. The Lucas County Clerk of Courts still administers the records, but General Division civil, criminal, and fugitive case searches now run through re:SearchOH and a companion tool called Justice Case Access, both of which require a free account. Domestic Relations Division dockets remain on the county's older Online Dockets system for now.

Misdemeanors, traffic tickets, and smaller civil cases within Toledo go to the Toledo Municipal Court, a separate clerk's office with its own case-information search. The Lucas County Probate Court is a third independent office with an online case search covering records from 1990 forward.

Because Lucas County is mid-transition to re:SearchOH, expect some older or ancillary docket links found through search engines to point to systems being phased out; use the current links on the county's own Online Dockets page rather than a bookmarked or search-engine link.

What is available online

As of January 2026, Common Pleas General Division case information moved to re:SearchOH and Justice Case Access, both requiring a free account (shared credentials work for either site). Domestic Relations Division cases remain on a separate, older online-dockets system. Toledo Municipal Court and the Probate Court each run their own independent search tools. Probate records are online from 1990 forward only; earlier records require an in-person or library request.

Which clerk has your record

In Ohio, the clerk who keeps a file depends on which court heard the case. Check the court name on the case notice, citation, or order, then use the office and coverage details above to identify the record holder. Court names and responsibilities differ by state; a county clerk may not keep court case files. For federal cases, see the PACER guide. The full court structure is on the Ohio page.
