Yakima County, the largest county in central Washington, keeps Superior Court records with the Yakima County Clerk in Room 323 of the county courthouse at 128 North 2nd Street in downtown Yakima. The Clerk is the custodian of all Superior Court files and exhibits — felony, civil, family law, probate, guardianship, and juvenile — and runs a separate Juvenile Division office at the Juvenile Justice Center on Jerome Avenue.
Yakima uses the statewide Odyssey Portal for case lookup ("Find My Case") and hearing dates, and a county copy-request form paired with the nCourt payment service for buying documents. The Clerk's fee schedule is posted online and follows RCW 36.18.016: $0.50 per page for paper copies, $0.25 per page for emailed copies, and $5.00 for the first page of a certified copy. Personal checks are not accepted at the counter.
Yakima County District Court occupies the same courthouse (Suite 217) with a branch in Grandview and provides court services for Union Gap, Grandview, Mabton, Tieton, and Moxee. It processes its own records requests — case information, criminal history, and hearing audio — from either location. The City of Yakima runs a separate municipal court for tickets written by Yakima police.

What is available online
Yakima County Superior Court case information and hearing schedules are free on the Odyssey Portal through the Clerk's "Find My Case" links. Documents are not downloaded directly by the public; instead you submit the county's online Copy Request form, the Clerk quotes the page count and cost, and you pay in person, by mail, or online through nCourt. Emailed copies are cheaper ($0.25 per page) than paper. District Court records — including Union Gap and Grandview municipal cases — are requested from District Court using its own form and are usually ready within 48 hours.
Which clerk has your record
In Washington, the clerk who keeps a file depends on which court heard the case. Check the court name on the case notice, citation, or order, then use the office and coverage details above to identify the record holder. Court names and responsibilities differ by state; a county clerk may not keep court case files. For federal cases, see the PACER guide. The full court structure is on the Washington page.
| Court | Typical cases | Records kept by |
|---|---|---|
| Superior Courts (one per county, some counties share) | Felony criminal cases; Divorce, custody, and other family-law cases; Civil cases above $100,000 (or any amount not limited to district court) | Clerk of the Superior Court for the county |
| District Courts | Misdemeanors and gross misdemeanors; Civil cases up to $100,000; Traffic and non-traffic infractions | District Court Clerk/Administrator for the county |
| Municipal Courts | Misdemeanors under city ordinance; Traffic infractions issued by city police; City code violations | Municipal court clerk for that city |
