Pierce County, like King County, does not use the statewide Odyssey Portal for its Superior Court. Instead, the Pierce County Clerk of the Superior Court publishes case information through LINX (the Legal Information Network eXchange), which covers criminal, civil, and judgment cases filed in Superior Court from 2002 forward, plus jail records and court calendars.

Misdemeanors, infractions, small claims, and traffic tickets are handled separately by Pierce County District Court. Both the Clerk's office and District Court sit in the County-City Building in downtown Tacoma, but they keep separate files and separate online systems.

A common mistake is expecting LINX to show a misdemeanor or a Tacoma traffic ticket — those are in District Court's records or, if issued by city police, the relevant municipal court, not the Superior Court Clerk's LINX system.

What is available online

LINX covers Superior Court criminal, civil, and judgment cases filed in 2002 or later, showing charges, parties, attorneys, docket entries, proceedings, and judgments. It does not include District Court or municipal court cases. Pierce County District Court cases are searchable through the statewide "Find My Court Date" tool at dw.courts.wa.gov rather than through a county-specific public search page.

Which clerk has your record

In Washington, the clerk who keeps a file depends on which court heard the case. Check the court name on the case notice, citation, or order, then use the office and coverage details above to identify the record holder. Court names and responsibilities differ by state; a county clerk may not keep court case files. For federal cases, see the PACER guide. The full court structure is on the Washington page.

ItemTypical cost in Washington
Plain copy$0.50 per page (non-certified) at most superior court clerks; some counties charge $0.25 per page
Certified copy$5.00 for the first page, $1.00 for each additional page

Superior court clerk fees are set by RCW 36.18.016; district and municipal court fees are set by RCW 3.62.060. Both statutes set the $5.00 first-page / $1.00 additional-page certified-copy fee, but counties vary on the non-certified per-page rate, search fees for older records, and add-ons like expedited service or electronic delivery — confirm the current amount with the specific clerk before sending payment.
